Day 58: (10 July 2011):
- Logan wake up ~9am. Good for me since I don’t sleep in. Not best, but OK weather.
- Lots of organising on Internet. Talk with Felix about SE Asia trip.
- Head off to museum late morning/noon. Very close to Logan’s.
- Smaller & less kid-centric than Te Papa. Nice items, but starting to get enough of South Pacific artifacts. Whare & Wharenui nice.
- Went to 1:30 Maori cultural performance. Ask where we all from, greet with our language. Pretend scared when meet someone from Aus.
- Informal, jokes. Good intro to all Maori dances, songs.
- The Maori love song (Pokarekare Ana, which I decided to learn the words to after the trip). Of course, Haka.
- Grab lunch after finish ground floor.
- 2nd floor: war memorials, etc. “Let this panel never be filled.” On an unfilled wall of names for fallen soldiers.
- Rock chimes.
- Finish on level 1. Some live animals/insects/fish. Packhorse cray.
- Volcano eruption simulation room.
- Leave museum ~4:50pm.
- More Internet work.
- Logan go to concert, so have place all to myself.
- Dinner: Found Pan Asian restaurant close by, red curry.
