2006 - First Backpacking Trip - Day 2

Day 2:

Woke up early, can't sleep. Had a very interesting talk with a roommate at breakfast, ****@rediffmail.com, seems like he has done and seen a lot. Very interesting person. Soutrik and his friend were finally ready at 2pm, and we went to the Twin Dolphins Coffeshop as suggested by Alma, **********@yahoo.ca or (almamana?). Split a space tea with Soutrik, made from the White Dolphins, their specialty brand of weed. Note: Do not drink half tea again! It was extremely strong. No wonder (Omar? Onar?, Alma's friend) was passed out after drinking one yesterday! But had a very intereseting experience, and was extremely high for nearly three hours! Everything was true about what they say about being high. Interesting visualizations, see things that were not there, hear sounds, and also was funny when Soutrik thought our new roommates were here to rob us since they were asking our names and where we were from! But we had the best dougnhut at the end of it. For lunch we also had kroken, which was interesting. We then just hang out at the hotel bar last night, and I finally got a good night's sleep, although only 7 hours. We are about to check out and head to our next hostel in the Red Light District. I am definitely going to miss the Flying Pig. It was such a fun place to stay! We also saw a cat in the kitchen last night and it slept in the free bread basket.

2006 - First Backpacking Trip - Day 1

Day 1:

Arrived in Schipol airport and took the IC train to Amsterdam Centraal.

Found our place at the Flying Pig Uptown, and I love it so far. Writing from the bar in the hostel where everyone is having a good time, drinking and smoking. There is a large place to sit, people are preparting, rolling, smoking everyone in here. Even the wallpaper in the rooms are covered in hemp leaf designs and there are pictures all over the walls of smoking. Went to Bulldog last night. Great music, ambiance, and split a space cake with four people and tried a puff of a blunt. Met everyone staying in the room. Hostels are a great place to meet and hang out with people. We went out in a group of 8 to have fun. For dinner, we had wine, etc. We had a total of 3 bottles of wint at about 1.5 euros each before going out, and a bailies hot chocolate at the bar here. Very happening place. Our room is right beside the bar, and all though the night you can hear people conversing and music from the bar. I love it here so far, and look forward to more fun.
